Key Objectives at the first Consultation:
The primary objective at the first visit is to treat your presenting complaint ( tooth ache / broken tooth / filling or early gum disease for example).
The second objective is to ensure that you have no oral disesae that could give rise to clinical concern
The third objective is to show and identify to the patient potential work that would need attention in the future.
(An itemized treatment plan can be provided and emailed or posted to the patient if requested with options and costings.)
Your First Visit – What do I Bring?
It is important to bring the following with you on your first visit:
General Checkup / Examination €40
A dentist will examine your mouth both intraorally and extraorally .This will involve examining you teeth, gums, tongue, joints and chewing muscles and your glands. If x-rays are required there will be a small additional fee. Where patients require a large x-ray (Orthopantomograph – OPG), we also have the facilities on-site to carry this out. Our systems are fully digital so the images are instant and easy to view.
The dentist will advise you of any cliniical issues which arise during the examination.
Solutions for all issues will be proposed to you and a treatment plan created to outline the treatment, time, options and costings involved. The final decision on what treatment is carried out lies with you, the patient. We respect that it is your mouth and teeth and our responsibility and obligation is to inform you of all the treatment options open to you, help you understand them and advise where necessary. Our goal is to have our patient dentally fit with a healthy mouth, an ability to clean everything well and be educated in how to maintain this level of dental health.
Your treatment plan will be designed as best suits your needs, wants and desires, your time schedule and your finances.
If you are attending for a recall visit privately, receiving an examination & normal cleaning, we are offering a special price of €80.
General Checkup / Examination €40
Your child’s first experience with the dentist can determine their attitude for the rest of their lives. Therefore, it is important that we see your child regularly beginning at an early age, ideally between the ages of 2 and 3 years of age.. At this stage we can teach you, the parents/guardians how to care for their teeth and allow your child to have a positive experience with us. This attention to care at a young age will stand them in good stead for their adult lives.
At the appropriate time, when they start getting their permanent teeth, we would advise to seal these as a preventative treatment against decay. We can also see how your child’s teeth are developing and the positions they are growing into. This will allow us to identify early, if there is any need for orthodontic intervention at a later date.
Routine Teeth Cleaning €60
The dentist or hygenist will give your teeth a professional cleaning and explain how to use the cleaning materials appropriately.
Cleaning materials are available to purchase from reception.
If you are attending for a recall visit privately, receiving an examination & normal cleaning, we are offering a special price of €80.
Scaling and Root Planing €75 (per quadrant)
Root Scaling is a treatment carried out where there is a degree of gum disease and the plaque or calculus/tartar is under the gumline, attached to the surface of the root. This needs to be removed to enable your mouth to return to good health. Gum disease left untreated results in bone loss, bleeding gums, bad breath and ultimately loss of teeth. It is for this reason that we place such a high importance on oral hygiene instruction with every patient on their first visit.
Filling €80 ~ €100 If you are on the Dental Plan DP12 then a discount of 20% is available against your treatment costs:
Teeth are treated with fillings to repair areas of caries/ decay or broken parts of teeth. Depending on the tooth and size of filling required, either a silver (amalgam) or a white (composite) filling will be used. The dentist will discuss the reasons for deciding on the filling type with you before starting the treatment. Ultimately, the decision is yours.
