COVID-19 is a new disease with a significant morbidity and capacity to overwhelm our health service.
Carrying on dental practice as normal is not an option.
The International response indicates that non essential dental treatment should cease in the delay and mitigation phases of the growing pandemic.
There is an need for an immediate change in normal dental practice to protect patients, their communities and the dental team.
For the moment, we believe that the responsible course of action is to immediately close the practice except in cases requiring emergency treatment.
In the event that you are having a dental emergency please text 0867926199 with your name and contact details.
We will give you advice over the phone and, in appropriate circumstances, we will endeavor to treat you or refer you to the appropriate care.
We hope, in these difficult times, to support you and your families.

Update from Our Irish Dental Association : Emergency Dental Treatment Centres/ Hubs during the Covid-19 Crisis
IDA Continues to Press for Urgent Dental Emergency Centres The Association is continuing to press for the urgent roll-out of dedicated dental emergency centres. In calling for such centres to be established as a matter of urgency, the IDA has sought assurances that there is clarity on clinical care pathways, that unnecessary bureaucratic demands are avoided, that suitable training is provided to participants, that certainty is offered as to which patients are treated by whom and that issues around indemnity and contractual issues, including remuneration to be paid to participating dentists, are resolved in advance. The Association has said that solutions could also include the possibility of private dental clinics assisting in particular with patients who are not eligible for medical card benefits, as is proposed in England and Wales where similar delays are being experienced in rolling out such dental emergency facilities. The HSE has confirmed to the IDA that all of these issues are being considered and we are in daily contact with the HSE exhorting its officials to address all of the matters we have raised. The Association has made contact with the HSE chief executive, Mr Paul Reid, asking for his support for the urgent roll-out of the dental emergency network. We acknowledge the efforts of the HSE project team but we are continuing to emphasise to the HSE the distress felt by dentists who offer consultation and prescribing to their patients but who are struggling to refer them for appropriate emergency treatment where necessary.
New patients are welcome to make appointments for consultation.
